The Mothers’ Club was formed in 2009 by a group of women from the local community, many of whom were participating in WSP programs. The Mothers’ Club is a unique forum for women to express themselves, gain support and build leadership skills. The Mothers’ Club elects its own officers, and organizes its own events and programs. The Club is open to any woman in the community. Members pay small monthly dues that are used to support Club activities. The Club acts in an advisory capacity to WSP and has a representative on the WSP Board of Directors. MelaThe Mothers' Club has organized two Bijoy Melas over the past year. These community-wide events have been an amazing opportunity to inform and involve the neighborhood on the services WSP can offer. The next Mela will be held at PS 106 on June 16, 2012. Skill-Building WorkshopsWith the support of local New York City Council members, the Mothers’ Club is sponsoring a workshop series. Topics to be presented include: |
